Cat Care Tips For Busy Pet Owners
As a cat owner, you probably want what's best for your cat. However, when you're really busy, it can be hard to fit as much cat care as you want into your day. That doesn't mean you can't still be a great cat owner. Here are some ways to take good care of your cat in spite of being very busy.
Purchase an automatic feeder.
Cats tend to like routine, and they benefit from being fed at the same times every day. This can be difficult if you're always getting home from work at different times or if you're so busy you sometimes forget to feed your kitty on time. An automatic feeder can really help. You can fill it about once a week and then set it to deposit food to your cat at specific times each day. With an automatic feeder, you can even go out of town for a couple of days and know your cat will be fed while you're gone.
Look for a mobile vet service.
Making vet appointments is a part of responsible cat ownership. But it can be hard to squeeze in appointments when you're always busy and rushing around. A good option for many busy people is to look for a mobile vet clinic. They can come to your home and offer basic services such as vaccines and annual checkups. If you're able to work from home, then you probably won't even need to take time off for your cat's vet appointment.
Have a friend stop by for kitty visits.
Some cats enjoy alone time and won't mind at all if you're gone all day. Other cats get a little sad and lonely if they don't get quality time and attention from humans. If your cat falls into the second group, then you may want to have a friend stop by once a day, or every other day, and spend a little time with your cat while you're gone. They can just pet your cat, play with toys, and generally spend time relaxing with them. This will help keep your kitty in good mental health. If you know any older, responsible teenagers, this could be a great job for them. You can pay them a few dollars for their time.
By using an automatic feeder, having a friend stop by, and using a mobile vet clinic, you can take great care of your cat in spite of being so busy.
